Should Christians use cryptocurrency?

Should Christians use cryptocurrency? Cryptocurrency is a form of digital currency, like Bitcoin, that's been developing since around 2009. The Bible doesn't mention crypto, of course, but it DOES have a lot to say about finances.

The Bible reminds us that "a false balance is an abomination to the Lord" (Proverbs 11:1). So when considering investing in crypto, we need to be honest with ourselves and maintain our integrity as wise stewards of the resources God has given us.

"Wealth gained hastily will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it." —Proverbs 13:11

Consider your motives for using cryptocurrency.

Are you looking to get rich quick? Or are you responsibly managing your finances? Research and understand the risks associated with buying, selling, or trading crypto. It can be risky, and you could lose your investment.

"For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs." —1 Timothy 6:10

Ultimately, prayer is key (James 1:5). If we ask, God will guide us in our financial decisions, including whether to invest in crypto. Nothing is too trivial to bring before God.

"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." —Matthew 6:21

So, you can see it's not a simple yes or no. Talk to God and listen closely to determine what's best and wisest for you in your current situation.
